Manage sites
Everything a site can do lives in one place. Here is where each control is, which plan it needs, and how the settings behave.
Open a site's controls
On a computer, click a site on your dashboard to open its controls, grouped down the left side. The footer has Copy link, Visit and Delete project. On a phone, the same controls are on the site's card and in its ⋮ menu.
| Group | Controls |
|---|---|
| Deploy | GitHub (connected sites), Replace files, Versions (Plus) |
| Edit | Visual Edit, Code Edit (Pro) — or Builder for Site Builder sites |
| Insights | Analytics, SEO Analysis, Google Analytics (Plus) |
| Features | Data, Forms (Plus), Bookings (Plus), AI Bot (Plus), Email Gate (Plus), Leads |
| Settings | QR, Custom Domain (Pro), Password (Plus), Page Not Found, Share (Pro) |
A shared file — a PDF, an image or a ZIP download — has fewer controls: analytics, its QR code and a password.
Password protection
On Plus and Pro, open the site and choose Password under Settings, enter a password of at least 6 characters and save. It applies at once to every page. Visitors enter it once and stay in for 24 hours, then they are asked again; after 5 wrong tries they wait 15 minutes. Remove it from the same place to make the site public.
The password protects your pages. Someone who already knows the exact address of an image, PDF or script can still open that file.
Want a client to see a site without a password? Share the site with them instead.
Email gate and leads
On Plus and Pro, choose Email Gate under Features and switch it on. First-time visitors enter an email address before the site loads, then get 24 hours of access. Returning visitors are recognised, so their visit count goes up instead of adding a duplicate.
Leads lists every address with when it was captured and the number of visits. Export CSV downloads the list with the email, capture date, visits, last visit, IP address and referring site. Leads stay when you switch the gate off.
A site can have a password or an email gate, not both at once.
QR code
Every site and shared file has a QR code on every plan. Choose QR under Settings to download it for print, business cards or a poster.
Page Not Found
Decide what visitors see when they open a link on your site that has no page behind it. Choose Page Not Found under Settings — on every plan — and pick one of three:
- My homepage (default) — broken links show your homepage, so visitors aren't stranded.
- One of my pages — any page of your site, such as your own
404.html. - Design an error page — set the site name, heading, message, button and colours in the Design tab.
Whichever you pick is sent with a real 404 status, so search engines don't index broken links. The change applies at once on your dplooy.com address and any custom domain, and survives redeploys and Replace files.
Page Not Found is for multi-file sites. A 404.html in your upload isn't used until you choose it here. A single-page site answers every link with its one page, and a site that is one HTML file plus JavaScript is treated as an app — every link opens the app, which shows the right page itself.
Delete a site
Open the site and click Delete project in the footer, or use Delete in its ⋮ menu on a phone. Deleting is permanent: the files, analytics, versions, chatbot conversations, email-gate leads, custom domain and GitHub connection go with it, and the slot is free again. Download anything you want to keep first.
Forms, booking pages and data collections belong to your account rather than the site. They stay, unassigned, ready to use on another site.
On a site someone shared with you, the same button reads Leave site — it removes your access and nothing else.
