Permanent Direct URLs
Every image gets a clean, stable link that serves the file itself. No viewer pages, no redirects, no expiry — the link works until you delete the image.
Automatic WebP Conversion
Photos are re-encoded to WebP and capped at 2000px on upload. What you hotlink is typically a fraction of the size you uploaded — faster pages for free.
Location Metadata Stripped
Phones embed GPS coordinates in photos. Re-encoding removes EXIF data before storage, so the public version of a photo never reveals where it was taken.
SVGs Sanitized
SVG files can carry scripts. Every uploaded SVG is cleaned of scripts and event handlers before it is stored, so the file you hotlink is safe to embed.

What is direct-link image hosting?
It means every image you upload gets its own permanent URL that serves the image file itself — not a viewer page around it. You can put that URL in an img tag, a CSS background-image, a GitHub README, or an email signature, and the image loads. The Media Library is that, built into your Dplooy account.
Which image formats can I upload?
JPG, PNG, GIF, WebP, and SVG, up to 5MB per file. Photos (JPG and PNG) are automatically converted to WebP and resized to a maximum of 2000 pixels — and if the converted file wouldn't actually be smaller, the original is kept, so the stored image is never larger than what you uploaded. GIFs and WebP files are stored untouched to preserve animation, and SVGs are sanitized before storage.
Can I use the links on sites not hosted on Dplooy?
Yes. The URLs are plain public image links — they work in any HTML page, CMS, README, forum post, or email, hosted anywhere. Your images and your hosting don't have to live in the same place.
What happens to my photo's metadata?
Photos are re-encoded on upload, which strips EXIF metadata — including GPS coordinates that phones embed in pictures. The version of the photo the internet sees carries no information about where or when it was taken.
How many images can I store?
10 images on the Free plan, 100 on Plus, and 500 on Pro, at up to 5MB each. Media shares your account's storage allowance with your hosted projects: 50MB on Free, 500MB on Plus, 5GB on Pro.
Do the links ever expire?
No. A link works until you delete the image from your library. That also means deleting is permanent — any page still using that URL will show a broken image, so the library warns you before removing anything.
Does the Site Builder use the same library?
Yes. The image picker inside the Site Builder reads your account's Media Library, so a logo you upload once is available in every builder project — and anything you upload from the builder shows up in the library too.
Is this an image CDN?
It's image hosting with web-friendly defaults: WebP conversion, size caps, and long-lived cache headers so browsers keep images after the first load. If you need a global multi-region CDN with on-the-fly transforms, a dedicated image CDN is the right tool — for hosting the images your sites actually use, this is simpler and included with your plan.
