Collaborators and transfer
Invite people to a site as viewers or editors, and hand a finished site to a client with everything attached. Inviting and transferring are on Pro; the people you invite can be on any plan.
Invite someone
- 1Open the site and choose Share under Settings. The panel has People, Invite and Transfer ownership.
- 2Type their email address and click Invite.
- 3They open the link in the invitation email. It works for 7 days, only for that address, and needs a Dplooy account with a verified email — on any plan, Free included.
Up to 5 people can be on one site, with up to 10 invitations waiting at once. Shared sites appear on their dashboard, marked as shared by you.
Viewer or editor

| Editor | Everything a viewer can, plus change the site: Visual Edit, Code Edit, Replace files, Versions, password, email gate, Google Analytics, the chatbot, Page Not Found and SEO — within your plan. |
| Owner | Everything an editor can, plus sharing, transferring and deleting the site, its custom domain and GitHub connection, email-gate leads, and setting up its forms, data and booking pages. |
Everyone starts as a viewer. Switch anyone between Viewer and Editor, or remove them, at any time — on any plan.
Transfer ownership
- 1Invite the new owner first — only someone already on the site can receive it.
- 2In Share, choose them under Transfer ownership and read the precheck: the plan they need — Plus, or Pro if the site has a custom domain — and everything that moves.
- 3Tick Keep editor access if you are staying on to help, then click Transfer.
The site keeps its address, and its forms, bookings, data collections and images go with it.
What a transfer changes
- The new owner needs room on their plan for the site and everything attached to it; the precheck says what is missing.
- Deploy history stays behind, a GitHub connection is disconnected, and everyone else on the site is removed and waiting invitations cancelled — the new owner can invite them again.
- Forms and booking pages keep emailing the current addresses; the new owner is asked once to review them.
- A transfer cannot be undone, but the new owner can transfer the site back the same way.
Plan changes and leaving a site
- If your plan drops below Pro, the people already on your sites keep their access. Only inviting new people needs Pro.
- To leave a site someone shared with you, use Leave site on its card.
- Want a client to see a site without a password? Share it with them instead of giving out the password.
