How to publish a websitestraight from Claude or ChatGPT

Create a free Dplooy account
Sign up with an email address — no credit card. The connection works on the free plan, which gives you 3 hosted websites and editable content. Forms, bookings and the chatbot need Plus or Pro, and your assistant will say so rather than failing silently.

Add Dplooy as a connector
Open Settings → Connectors and choose “Add custom connector”. Paste the Dplooy server URL. That single line is the whole integration — there is nothing to download and nothing to configure.

A Dplooy window opens asking you to approve the connection. That's the entire authentication step — no API key is ever copied or pasted. Every connected app is listed in Settings → Connections, and one click revokes any of them instantly.

Describe the website you want
Now just ask, in plain language. The more real detail you give — actual services, real prices, genuine opening hours — the less your assistant has to invent. Invented business details are the single biggest cause of a site you then have to correct.
Answer a question or two
Your assistant is specifically instructed to ask for the details that matter rather than assume them — above all the email address that receives form submissions and booking requests. A wrong address there means lost enquiries, so it checks.
Get your real URL
You get a genuine, shareable address with free SSL and a global CDN — plus the complete source code in the chat, which your assistant is required to hand over so you always own a copy of what was published.

Ask for changes any time
This is the part that keeps working long after the first chat. In any conversation, on any day, say what you want changed. Your assistant reads the live files first, then edits only that text — everything else stays exactly as it was.
Refresh your connector every month or so
Your AI app caches the tool list from the moment you connect, so it won't notice new tools we add later. To refresh: Settings → Connectors, toggle Dplooy off and on, then start a new conversation. Do it any time your assistant says it can't find a Dplooy tool — that's almost always a stale list rather than a broken connection.
Can't find “Add custom connector”? claude.ai requires a paid Claude plan for custom connectors, and Team or Enterprise workspaces may need an admin to allow them. In ChatGPT, connectors live in developer mode. Prefer working locally instead? Use the npm package with Claude Code or Cursor.

Ask your assistant
Best for wording, layout, new sections, styling, adding a page. It reads the live site first, so it never guesses what's there — which is why a brand-new conversation works just as well as day one.
Edit content yourself
Anything your assistant put in a content collection — prices, menu items, team, FAQs — you edit directly in your dashboard. The live site updates within about a minute, with no redeploy and no AI involved.
If something goes wrong
My assistant can't find the Dplooy tools
Refresh the connector: Settings → Connectors, toggle Dplooy off and on, then start a new conversation. Assistants load the tool list once when a chat begins, so a conversation started before you connected won't see it.
It says a feature isn't on my plan
Forms, the booking widget and the chatbot need Plus or Pro. Everything else, including hosting and editable content, works on Free. Upgrade and ask again — the site it already built is unaffected.
The form doesn't email me
Check the address in your dashboard under Forms, and confirm the endpoint got connected to the site. Your assistant does that as its final step and will tell you if it was skipped.
I hit a deploy limit
Publishing is capped per account per hour and per day to stop runaway automation. Wait for the window shown in the message — normal building and editing never comes close.
I want it completely different
Ask it to rebuild the page from scratch rather than tweaking. There's no rollback to an earlier version, so keep the code it gave you before a big change.
Is it safe to let an AI publish for me?
Every site an assistant publishes goes through exactly the same security scanning as a file you upload by hand — there is no looser path for AI.
Frequently asked questions
How long does the whole thing take?
Connecting is a one-time job of about two minutes. After that, a full small-business site — services, gallery, contact form, booking calendar and chatbot — is normally one conversation. Simple landing pages take a couple of minutes.
What should I actually say to get a good result?
Be concrete. Name the business, say what it does and where, list the sections you want, and give the email address that should receive form submissions and booking requests. If you have real prices, opening hours or testimonials, paste them in — anything you don't supply, the assistant has to invent, and invented business details are the main cause of a site you then have to correct.
Do I need to know how to code?
No. You describe the business in plain language and your assistant writes and publishes everything. You do get the code as well, so a developer can pick it up later if you ever want one.
Do I own the site and the code?
Yes. The site is hosted on your own Dplooy account, and your assistant is instructed to hand you the complete source in the chat for every build and every edit — so you always keep a copy of what was published for you.
My assistant says it can't find the Dplooy tools
Almost always the connector list needs refreshing. Open Settings → Connectors, toggle the Dplooy connector off and on (or disconnect and reconnect), then start a new conversation. Assistants cache the tool list when a conversation starts, so a chat opened before you connected won't see the tools.
Can I use my own domain name?
Yes, on the Pro plan. Every site gets a free yourname.dplooy.com address with SSL immediately; connecting a custom domain you own is done from your dashboard once the site is live.
What if I don't like what it built?
Just say so — describe what to change and it edits the live site in place. For a completely different direction, ask it to rebuild the page from scratch. Note there is no rollback to a previous version, so for big changes it's worth keeping the code it gave you.
